A police officer recently caused reactions from Ghanaians over an act of kindness he did to a mentally challenged man at Kasoa.

In a video spotted online by YEN.com.gh, the police officer was dressed in his uniform and seated on a police motorbike at traffic when the mentally ill man walked up to him.
The mentally unstable man dressed in tattered clothing with no footwear, began to converse with the police officer at a bridge in Kasoa. Some seconds later, the unnamed officer handed the mentally challenged man some money.
The heartfelt moment caught the attention of many Ghanaians on social media, sparking mixed reactions based on the integrity of Ghanaian policemen. Some attacked the generality of the force, saying the yet-to-be-identified policeman would have collected a bribe before the event.
While some have questioned the sustainability of such gestures, others argue that it highlights a human side to law enforcement that is often overshadowed by reports of corruption or abuse of power.
