Achraf Hakimi’s off-field troubles took a sharp turn as French prosecutors pushed for the Paris Saint-Germain defender to stand trial.
The request stems from a complaint filed in March 2023 by a 24-year-old woman, who alleged that the Moroccan invited her to his residence in Boulogne-Billancourt after the two made contact on Instagram.

At the time of the alleged incident, Hakimi’s wife and children were reportedly away on vacation.
The accusation led to a formal charge of non-consensual sexual activity, a development that has continued to draw intense public and media scrutiny.
On March 3, 2023, Hakimi was formally indicted on a sexual assault charge and placed under judicial supervision after spending a short time in custody.
Achraf Hakimi’s lawyer responds to prosecutor’s call
Since the beginning of the case, Hakimi has firmly denied the allegations.
His legal team, led by French lawyer Fanny Colin, has consistently challenged the claims.
Reacting to the prosecution’s recent move, Colin didn’t mince words.
“The call for a trial is incomprehensible and senseless in light of the case’s elements,” she said, as quoted by French outlet RFI.
“We, along with Achraf Hakimi, remain as calm as we were at the start of the proceedings.
“If these requisitions were to be followed, we would obviously pursue all avenues of appeal.”
She further stated that the footballer had “been the target of an attempted extortion,” reinforcing their position that the accusations lack substance.
