In a post shared on August 5, the new governing body was introduced to the public for the first time.

The board members comprised 13 people, including former journalist and opera singer Kokui Selormey and actress Akorfa Edjeani Asiedu.

In photos which have popped up online, the new board members, including Mr Beautiful, posed with Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

Mr Beautiful, who has been a staunch supporter of John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress, was seen signing his contract and swearing the oath as part of the agency.

The Creative Arts Agency is a body established by parliament through the Creative Arts Industry Act, 2020 (Act 1048) to provide the necessary institutional framework for the development and management of the arts industry and other related matters.

Mr Beautiful hails John Dramani Mahama

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Mr Beautiful had praised John Dramani Mahama and his family for their continuous support towards him throughout his career and personal life.

The actor has been a vocal supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His support for Mahama and the NDC incurred the wrath of patrons of Kumawood movies.

With most of his fans in the Twi-speaking areas, a predominantly NPP stronghold, Mr Beautiful’s movies were no longer being patronised and were dropped by many movie producers, becoming redundant. He even went off social media.
