Afua Asantewaa took to her Instagram page to share a snippet of how Daddy Lumba’s vigil in Toronto, Canada, went.
The vigil, which took place on August 3, 2025, was attended by several Ghanaians, music lovers and fans of the legendary highlife musician.
In the video she shared, the failed Guinness World Record sing-a-thon star was surrounded by several people as she performed one of Daddy Lumba’s songs, Theresa.
The song was about the ex-lover of the deceased highlife legend known as Theresa Abebrese, who played an instrumental role in his relocation to Germany and advancing in his music career.
In the caption of the Instagram post, Afua Asantewaa shared her experience at the vigil, saying,

Meanwhile, in Ghana, a vigil was held for the Ankwanoma crooner on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Black Star Square. The ceremony was attended by his children, family, fans and several celebrities.
At the Black Star Square, Ghanaians danced and sang Daddy Lumba’s songs at the top of their voices. The highlife legend’s children mounted the stage to express their profound gratitude to Ghanaians for their support.
