The National Democratic Congress has won the recently held by-election in Akwatia, as per provisional results released.

Some of the party’s top officials, in celebrating their victory, reflected on the legacy of the late Dr Edwin Omane Boamah.
They shared glowing tributes in honour of Omane Boamah, whose life was cut short in the recent helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.
Yayra Koku, the newly appointed CEO of the National Identification Authority shared a video from 2016 of the late Defence minister dancing in the studios of Joy FM.

The late Defence Minister after campaigning for John Dramani Mahama’s second term in 2016 on the Super Morning Show was danced to Shatta Wale’s Mahama paper.
In the video, he hand Mahama’s Green Book in hands. The document provides an overview of Ghana’s progress under President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, as outlined in his 2012 campaign promises.
Yayra Koku, shared the fond memory of Dr Omane Boamah hailing him for his guidance in contesting elections. .
Rashid Tanko in an interview after the Akwatia by elections also honoured Dr Omane Boamah.
The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the ruling NDC who worked closely with kate Defence Minister established that Omane Boamah left the blueprint needed to qin the elwctions before he died.
