Onana marks Trabzonspor debut with a howler
The 29-year-old initially produced a fine stop but immediately undid his work by directing the rebound straight into the path of Youssef En-Nesyri, who made no mistake from close range.
That strike proved decisive, condemning Trabzonspor to defeat and dropping them to third in the league standings, as featured by Flashscore.

United’s decision to bring in Senne Lammens from Antwerp sealed Onana’s loan exit. Manager Ruben Amorim admitted the goalkeeper needed a new environment after struggling with the mental demands of being United’s No. 1.
Speaking before his departure, Amorim reflected on Onana’s decline:
“Andre had an excellent season with Inter. The quality is there, but at Manchester United the pressure on every detail is immense. Sometimes a change is necessary to regain your confidence. It was the right time for him to step away.”
He added that Onana’s work ethic had never been in question, but the weight of expectations became overwhelming:
“You can have all the talent in the world, but if the environment isn’t right, you struggle to show it.”
Trabzonspor had signed Andre Onana hoping he could rediscover his best form in a less intense setting.
Instead, his debut offered an all-too-familiar storyline: a brilliant save undone by a moment of hesitation and poor decision-making.

Its worth mentioning that Onana’s only prior appearance this season came in United’s humiliating Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town on penalties — another reminder of how quickly his once-promising career has unraveled.
For now, the ex-Ajax custodian will aim to silence the doubts, cut out the costly errors, and prove that his fall from grace at Old Trafford does not define the next chapter of his career.
