Teleku-Bokazo in the Ellembelle Municipality was the scene of a daylight robbery carried out by an 11-man gang.
Robbers attacked the Capital Gold Buyer shop and made away with gold bars and an undisclosed amount of money.

Francis Awuah, the Assembly member for the Teleku-Bokazo Electoral Area, told YEN.com.gh the incident happened around 5:40 pm.
Robbers moved in after a bus that transports mine workers, which had parked close to the Capital Gold Buyer shop, took off.
At the time of the attack, four people were present. A customer suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while one other person was stabbed.
During their escape, the robbers were chased by some members of the community, who were not deterred by warning shots.
Police called in to engage with robbers
Awuah made a call to nearby police stations, including Nkroful and Asiamah Police stations, after he received a distress call.
When police got to the scene, there was a gunfight, which left one robber wounded and subsequently arrested.
The police and the robbers exchanged fire, which eventually hit the leg of one of the robbers.
The robber whose name is yet to be disclosed is currently in the grips of the Asiama police station, assisting with the investigation.
The July 31 incident was the second in the last six months. In the previous attack, two people were killed by the robbers.
Sources say the gang also raided a phone shop, making away with several phones and more cash.
Similar attacks on gold value chain
In May 2024, a 15-member gang attacked a mining company and shot its managers.
After ransacking the premises, the armed robbers also stole about GH¢1 million in cash and two gold bars.
Following the attack, the managers were in the hospital responding to treatment, and the police set up a security post at the mining site.
In the aftermath of the attack, the Akyemansa District Police Command in the Eastern Region set up a 24-hour security post at the mining company to quell further robbery attempts.

Content creator burgled at East Legon
YEN.com.gh reported that a Ghanaian content creator, Naa Darkoa, opened up about the recent theft of some of her valuables.
