An Ashanti youth group calling itself Asante Wɔ Dɔm has issued a stern warning to Kevin Taylor not to set foot in any town in the Ashanti Region, especially Kumasi.
The group’s warning follows claims by the US-based Ghanaian journalist that he would soon visit Kumasi and pay homage to some relatives in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking at a press conference, the group, made up of some youth and elderly indigenes of the Ashanti Region, told Kevin Taylor that he was not needed in the region.
“We have banised you and we do not need you here. If you have been given a place to stay in Accra, that’s okay, but don’t set foot in Kumasi,” the group said.
Kevin Taylor visits Tamale, claims he’s in Kumasi
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Kevin shared a video of himself descending a flight and claimed he was in the Ashanti Region.
However, his claim turned out to be false as he was later spotted in Tamale hanging out with famous Ghanaian artist, Ibrahim Mahama.
Why is the group warning Kevin Taylor?
The youth group and many Ashantis are upset with Kevin Taylor because the Ghanaian socialite, on several occasions, disrespected their revered King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Kevin, while abroad, made several derogatory remarks about the Asantehene, often unprovoked.
Many Ashanti youth groups registered their displeasure with his actions and demanded that he put an immediate stop to it, warning of dire consequences, but Kevin wouldn’t budge.
Fastforward – Kevin Taylor arrived in Ghana months after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won the 2024 elections and has vowed to visit the Ashanti Region.
