An intelligent Ghanaian Junior High School graduate has grabbed the headlines for the right reasons after the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results were released
This comes after his former school, Integrity Keepers’ School in Kumasi, took to social media to announce his academic achievement, indicating that he passed the BECE with flying colours.

Prince Damien Arthur, who represented his school at the Shark Quiz contest, passed the exams with six ones out of the ten subjects he sat for.
His alma mater, acknowledging his stellar academic performance, posted a Facebook update on September 2, 2025, sharing the results of the talented Junior High School graduate and confirming that he had indeed achieved a feat worth celebrating.
The school then commended him for his performance in the BECE.
“Prince Damien Arthur proves excellence is no accident With aggregate 6 and six ones, and a Sharks Quiz journey with Akua, he’s part of our success story. A true inspiration! Congrats!” the post read.
WAEC sets up committee over withheld exams
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has also announced that a committee has been set up to investigate disgruntled students whose results were withheld.
Speaking in an interview with Adom TV, the Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, stated that students with concerns about their results had been advised to visit various WAEC offices to have their issues addressed.
He mentioned that the Council would make a determination on the results based on the committee’s findings.
JHS warned graduates against fraudsters
The Council also cautioned JHS graduates to be wary of fraudsters promising to upgrade their results.

In a release, WAEC stated that BECE results certified by WAEC could not be upgraded, contrary to what fraudsters have been claiming.

“The Council wishes to caution all stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who claim they can upgrade results for a fee. Candidates should note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated,” the statement read in part.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service has also stated that the school placement exercise for 2025 will commence on Wednesday, September 17.
Speaking to the media at a press briefing on August 27, the Director-General of the service, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, also noted that senior high school first years will report between October 18 and October 20.
He indicated that the placement exercise had been designed to minimise errors and enhance transparency.
A review window from September 1 to September 8 has been introduced to enable candidates to verify their details on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal.
