The streets of Accra will come alive with flavor, joy, and community spirit as renowned culinary personality Chef Abbys leads The Big Street Feast; a historic food-sharing celebration in honor of World Food Day.

This one-of-a-kind initiative will bring together food trucks and food stands at vantage points across the city, ensuring that over 15,000 people can enjoy a hearty meal, no matter where they are. With the rallying theme “Wherever You Are, Food Will Find You,” the Feast highlights the power of food to unite, nourish, and restore hope.

Unlike traditional gatherings, The Big Street Feast breaks barriers by taking food directly to the people. Trucks and stands will deliver meals in key neighborhoods, turning the city into one massive, distributed community feast.

“Food is more than survival, it is memory, dignity, culture, and love. With The Big Street Feast, we are not just feeding people, we are championing a movement,” says Chef Abbys.

The event seeks to make sure that everyone can feel the joy of being fed. Food is love, and The Big Street Feast is about sharing that love with as many people as possible.

Event Highlights:

  • Date: 16th October 2025 (World Food Day)
  • Location: Multiple vantage points across Accra
  • Goal: Feed over 15,000 people in one day
  • Format: Food trucks & stands delivering meals directly to communities
  • Partners: Kivo, Diaspora Affairs, Yango

The Big Street Feast is open to all, with no shared tables; just the promise that everyone, everywhere, gets a taste of dignity and love through food.
