China has developed a Livestreaming ultra-high-definition videos from a bullet train moving at 350 kilometres per hour, a sure breakthrough in technology. 

The feat, first in world tech history was unveiled by the China Media Group as a new state-of-the-art livestreaming studio on the high-speed railway line connecting Chinese capital Beijing with Olympic co-host city Zhangjiakou.

Ma Xin, Senior Engineer, Media System, Research and Development of the All-Media Business Centre of Huafeng Metrological Media Group Company Limited told 30 Africa Senior Managers on Mainstream Media training in Beijing, China.

The achievement demonstrated China’s primacy in multiple fields of cutting-edge technology.

The 5G media Usage Scenario and Key Technologies training formed part of a 14-day seminar entitled; “Seminar for Senior Management of Mainstream Media in Countries along the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.

The Belt and Road Initiative, known in China as the One Belt One Road is a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by the government of the People’s Republic of China in 2013 to invest in more than 150 countries and international organizations.

It was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and organised by China Broadcasting International, Economic and Technical Cooperation Co. Limited. 

The China Belt and Road Initiative would ultimately boost international connectivity by enhancing infrastructure, trade, and economic cooperation.

Ma Xin noted the need for mainstream media owners and managers to deploy the right technologies that would aid in creating innovative and quality content for consumers.

The Senior Engineer said the era of two and four ‘G’ where the mainstream media were the giants in the industry had faded with the arrival of 5G -thus the need for traditional media to adjust, innovative and apply the new media to stay more competitive and relevant.

He noted that deploying AI-powered applications, cloud computing, buffering was also helpful especially on visual motion and live streaming activities and events.

The Tech Engineer stated that production managers must also begin to think about 5G Back-Packs with higher speed and signals for live streaming for maximum stability.

China, he stated offered a varied range of the technology, back-packs among other such services in retooling Africa’s mainstream media.

The Senior Managers of Mainstream Media would also be taken through integrated media operation and marketing, short video creation strategy on sports, redefining virtual story telling in the era of AI and integration symbiosis among many field visits.
