Ghanaian media personality Counsellor George Lutterodt has raised serious objections regarding how the death of highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, was made public.
In an interview with Power FM, Counsellor Lutterodt expressed unhappiness, stating that the traditional customs were overlooked in the process.

He first lamented that the decision by Ghanaian media personality Serwaa Amihere to validate claims on social media by going on DL FM to announce Daddy Lumba’s death was wrong.
He also took issue with Daddy Lumba’s lawyer for coming out with a press release announcing that his client was no more.

According to Counsellor Lutterodt, the family should have been the ones to announce the passing instead of Serwaa Amihere or Daddy Lumba’s lawyers.
Daddy Lumba died on the morning of Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra.

Serwaa Amihere announces Lumba’s passing
Serwaa Amihere, on Saturday, July 26, could not control her tears as she announced the passing of the legend on behalf of the family.
“The family of Daddy Lumba, officially called Charles Kojo Fosu, regrets to announce that our legend is gone. It’s been very tough for all of us, even before coming live to talk about this.”
“The rumors are true. Daddy Lumba passed on earlier this morning after a very short illness. Even though we understand the pain that this comes with, the family, the lawyer, and everyone associated with him will plead with the general public to give us some privacy as we mourn the loss of Daddy Lumba.” she added.
