The brother of Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba has allayed fears of Ghanaians regarding reported tension between the wife of the musician, Priscilla Ofori Atta, alias Odo Broni, and the late musician’s family.

Ebenezer Oppong, who addressed the media at the residence of his late brother, explained that the family of Odo Broni followed the right procedures required by tradition in announcing the demise of Daddy Lumba to the family.

He said the confusion arose due to a delay in informing the head of Daddy Lumba’s family on time, but the issues have now been resolved.

In this vein, he explained that relatives of Daddy Lumba, including the family head, will travel to Accra for further deliberations.

Media Committee to be set up

Another relative who spoke on the issue said that, in a bid to prevent the unfortunate misunderstanding which arose as a result of a lack of communication, the family will set up a media committee.

The mandate of the committee will be to handle the flow of information on matters related to the preparations for the funeral of Daddy Lumba.

Brouhaha between Lumba’s family and Odo Broni

The family of Daddy Lumba, in an explosive interview with GH Page TV on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, issued a strong warning to the widow of the late highlife legend.

This comes after the head of Daddy Lumba’s family, Kofi Owusu, accused the widow, Priscilla Ofori Atta, of being very disrespectful to the family.
