The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Despite Media led a delegation to visit the home of the late singer to express their condolences.

Despite was joined by his son, Kennedy Asante Osei, the General Manager of the Despite Media Group, and Managing Director Fadda Dickson Narh.

Videos seen by YEN.com.gh showed the trio arriving at the home and exchanging pleasantries with gathered family members.

Despite led the group to greet the widow, who burst into tears in the businessman’s arms.

Daddy Lumba dies after short illness

Ghanaian highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

According to reports, he fell sick at his East Legon home in the early hours of the day and was transported to the Bank Hospital in Cantonment.

Shortly after arrival at the prestigious health centre, the Aben Wo Ha hitmaker passed away.

Rumours of his death circulated on social media for hours before his family confirmed the tragedy in a statement.

“With profound sorrow and deep grief, the Fosu family announces the passing of Ghana’s beloved musical icon, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away earlier today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness,” the statement read.

Daddy Lumba’s family slams wife

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba’s family slammed his surviving widow and accused her of disrespect.

In an interview with GHPage, a family head admonished Priscilla Ofori Atta to recognise that the deceased hailed from a family.
