Ghana’s festive tourism calendar officially kicked off with the launch of December in GH 2025 at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House in Accra on Monday, October 13.

The ceremony brought together key figures from the tourism, creative arts, and hospitality industries, including the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, and the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Madam Dzifa Gomashie.

In her address, GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto emphasized the growing influence of the initiative in positioning Ghana as Africa’s top holiday destination. She noted that the 2025 edition will build on past successes by strengthening collaboration across the creative, hospitality, and events sectors to deliver world-class visitor experiences.

Madam Dzifa Gomashie highlighted the initiative’s cultural and economic significance, stating that “December in GH is more than a celebration; it is a showcase of Ghana’s energy, culture, and global appeal.” Mr. Julius Debrah commended the GTA and the Ministry for promoting tourism as a driver of growth and cultural exchange, while Rex Omar, Head of the Black Star Experience Secretariat, reaffirmed their mission to “curate experiences that go beyond entertainment — to celebrate identity, creativity, and connection.” The 2025 calendar promises an exciting lineup of concerts, festivals, and diaspora reunions, further solidifying Ghana’s status as Africa’s cultural heartbeat.
