Democracy Hub convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor says he was robbed near the Achimota Overhead on Wednesday, November 20, losing several valuable items in the incident.

In a Facebook post shortly after the alleged attack, he listed the items stolen, noting that the robbery happened “not less than 30 minutes ago.”

According to him, his MacBook, iPad, Google Pixel 9, GH₵9,500 cash, credit cards, house keys, two wallets, Sony headphones, and several books were all taken during the encounter.

“Hmmm,” he ended the post, reflecting the shock and frustration of the incident.

A few hours later, Barker-Vormawor returned with an unexpected update: his Google Pixel had been found — but in a ruined state.

“Google Pixel found. Must have fallen when he was running. But car tyres got to it first!” he posted, suggesting the device slipped from the robber during escape but was subsequently run over.

Mr Barker-Vormawor has not yet provided additional details about how the robbery occurred or whether the incident has been reported to the police.

The incident has sparked a wave of public concern, with many social media users expressing sympathy and urging increased security interventions along major city corridors.
