Chief Executive Officer of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, has made it clear that stepping into politics is not part of her plans for now.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Hitz FM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the celebrated diaspora advocate stressed that she is content with the impact of her work and prefers to continue on that path rather than seek political office.
“Not now. I feel like I still have a lot of work to do. The work is huge. So I prefer to keep doing what I am doing. Because what I do affects the government anyway. It benefits the government. I want to be where I am. I am happy with where I am,” she explained.
Her comment comes after Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa recently announced her as one of the recipients of a diplomatic passport. Other notable figures honoured with the same recognition include Grammy-nominated musician Rocky Dawuni, celebrated YouTuber Wode Maya, broadcaster Anita Erskine, and contemporary artist Ibrahim Mahama. While many viewed the gesture as a possible gateway to political appointments, Dentaa insists her current work already contributes meaningfully to national development.
Beyond GUBA, Dentaa has carved a reputation as one of the leading voices in Ghana’s creative and cultural space. She has promoted Ghanaian identity globally through her initiatives, including The Dentaa Show, which highlighted Ghana’s arts and culture to wider audiences. Her networking platforms have also connected Ghanaian talents with international business opportunities, creating collaborations that advance both the creative industry and tourism.
She has previously served on the Governing Board of the Ghana Tourism Authority, working with stakeholders to strengthen Ghana’s tourism drive and attract partnerships with international acts.
For Dentaa, her focus remains on using her platforms to bridge Ghana and the diaspora rather than stepping into the political arena
