The East Legon residence of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known as Daddy Lumba, has become a focal point for national mourning, drawing former presidents, government officials, business leaders, traditional chiefs, and dignitaries since his passing on July 26.

The continuous stream of high-profile visitors underscores the musician’s profound influence across Ghanaian society and the global music community. Daddy Lumba died at age 60 after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy spanning decades of cultural impact.

While widely celebrated for hits like “Aben Wo Ha,” Daddy Lumba maintained strict privacy regarding his family life. Public records confirm he was married twice: first to Akosua Serwaa, who collaborated on his debut album with Nana Acheampong, and later to Priscilla Ofori Atta, affectionately known as Maame Broni, who remained his spouse until his death.

The musician’s avoidance of public discussions about his marriages reflected his broader preference for separating artistic fame from personal matters.

As tributes continue, the family has not disclosed funeral arrangements. The convergence of mourners at his home highlights both his stature as a cultural icon and the public’s respect for his boundary between private life and artistic legacy.
