Attendees of the Asantehemaa’s funeral have been cautioned to dress decently and, as tradition demands, to avoid any embarrassment at the funeral grounds.
According to Otumfuo Fontomfrom Hemaa, Nana Ama Akyiaa, they do not want shabbily dressed guests attending the funeral. She added that they expect everyone who will be present at the funeral to dress as the Asante tradition demands.

“Don’t wear anklets and big earrings to the funeral of the Asantehemaa because we are mourning. Our eyes are very red, grieving a great loss, and so we will not be playing here. We will conduct the funeral as per the demands of the Asanti tradition. So when you are coming to the funeral, be humble and dress according to the Asante tradition.”
“No weird or loud hairstyles with plenty of accessories. If you come to the funeral grounds with such things, you will be driven out of the place, and believe us, it will happen,” she added.
Nana Konadu III died at the age of 98. The final funeral rites will be for four days. It will start on Monday, September 15, 2025, and continue to Thursday, September 18, 2025.
