Young Ghanaian actor John Peasah, renowned for his role as Drogba in the popular YOLO series, has appealed to Ghanaians for financial support as he continues his battle with a severe illness.

In recent years, the talented actor has been battling a demyelinating disease, a medical condition that has affected the nerves in his brain, eyes, and spinal cord.

The severe condition, which has no cure and can only be managed, can lead to vision loss and immobility, among other effects.

John Peasah’s medical condition has affected his ability to walk properly without any assistance from people around him.

The YOLO TV series actor and his sister previously created a GoFundMe to seek $280,000 to cover the cost of his treatments after his condition continued to deteriorate.

Former Vice-President and flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was among the few people who visited the embattled actor at his residence and donated money.

John Peasah appeals to public for support

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, John Peasah took to his official Instagram page to solicit financial support for his medical treatment as his health condition continued to worsen.

The YOLO TV series actor shared details of his various bank and Mobile Money accounts for people interested in donating money to him.

In the caption of the social media post, John Peasah appealed to Ghanaians to help him connect with some philanthropic individuals and organisations that could come to his aid amid his ongoing health woes.

He wrote:

“After being misrepresented online by a blogger for almost a year, I’ve remained silent. However, I can no longer stay quiet. I’m reaching out for support and kindly request your help in connecting me with philanthropic individuals or organisations that can assist me during this challenging time. Thank you.”

John Peasah denies alleged healing at church

John Peasah’s public appeal for financial support comes days after he denied claims that he had been healed from his ailment after attending Pastor Enoch Ofori Boamah’s Friday Night miracle service on August 30, 2024.

In an interview with DJ Slim, the embattled actor noted that the claims were false and that while he felt slightly better after the miracle service, his condition did not immediately go away.

According to John Peasah, he was still far from a full recovery and donations to his $280k fundraiser had stalled following the inaccurate reports about his condition.
