Faustina Fosu, younger sister of the late Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a heartfelt appeal to Ghanaians, particularly social media users, to put an end to the insults and defamation directed at her brother and the entire family following his passing.

In a video sighted by Ameyaw Debrah Media, Faustina, whose name was once mentioned in Lumba’s hit track “Makra Mo”, expressed deep pain and worry over the negative comments and false allegations that have circulated online since the musician’s death on July 26.

According to her, the wave of disrespect has become overwhelming and disheartening. “People just wake up, take their phones, and rant lies about Lumba, just as they did when he was alive,” she lamented.

Faustina stressed that her brother, despite being a peaceful man, never responded to attacks or insults, and it is difficult for her to understand why such behavior continues even after his death. “Enough is enough. Enough of the lies. It’s appalling and disgusting,” she said firmly, adding that the family would be grateful if the attacks stop so that Lumba’s memory can be honored in peace.

Faustina Fosu further asserted that many of those defaming her late brother may never reach the level of fame or influence he achieved, yet still find comfort in spreading damaging stories about him. She expressed her disappointment that, unlike the usual tradition of honoring the dead with good words, her late brother Daddy Lumba has instead been subjected to negativity and falsehoods.

“When someone dies, it is good things that are said about the person. Unfortunately, in the case of my brother, it has turned otherwise. I am lost for words,” she added.

The musician’s younger sister further recalled how, months ago, her late brother was falsely accused of being involved in the death of his colleague, Dada KD, stressing that such rumors only compounded his struggles. Despite battling illness, she revealed, Lumba worked tirelessly to provide for his wives and children, dedicating himself to his family and music until the very end.

Warning that the family may be compelled to take action if the defamation persists, Faustina urged Ghanaians to show respect to her brother’s memory. “Leave him alone to rest in peace,” she pleaded.

Daddy Lumba, celebrated as one of Ghana’s greatest Highlife musicians, leaves behind a legacy that has shaped generations of music lovers. His sister’s words echo a call for dignity, reminding Ghanaians to honor his memory with the same love and respect his music inspired.
