In a post shared on X and cited on Liverpool Echo, alongside a photo of Beard, the club wrote some touching words on their former coach.

The Reds expressed profound shock and sadness over the sudden death of the former boss, extending their thoughts and condolences to his family and friends during this heartbreaking time.

Beard first joined Liverpool Women in 2012, building a formidable squad that secured back-to-back Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014. He also guided the team into their first UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.

After leaving Liverpool, Beard moved to the United States to coach Boston Breakers before returning to England to lead West Ham United Women, reaching the Women’s FA Cup final in 2019.

According to the Reds, he later managed Bristol City Women before making a return to Merseyside in May 2021.

In his second stint with Liverpool, Beard rebuilt the side and steered them to FA Women’s Championship glory, sealing promotion back to the Women’s Super League at the first attempt.

He parted ways with the Reds earlier this year after making a “significant contribution” to the club’s progress.
