Former Family Matters actor Darius McCrary is behind bars — and this time, it’s not a TV plot twist! The 49-year-old star, best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the hit ‘90s sitcom, is locked up in a San Diego jail with no bail after being nabbed by U.S. Border Patrol on Sunday, October 5.

According to records, McCrary was arrested at 7:17 p.m. for an out-of-state felony warrant, listed as a “fugitive arrest.” The actor now faces an open criminal case in San Diego, with his first court date set for Wednesday, October 15.

His rep told TMZ that the warrant came out of Michigan, where McCrary reportedly missed a court hearing tied to his failure to pay child support.

This isn’t McCrary’s first brush with legal drama. Fans may recall his ugly divorce battle with ex-wife Tammy Brawner, which began in 2017. When the dust settled in 2019, a judge ordered McCrary to cough up $1,366 a month in child support — including $415 for child-care costs.

Brawner, a former Harlem Globetrotter, was granted full legal and physical custody of their daughter, Zoey, then just three years old. McCrary was also told to attend alcohol and batterers’ intervention programs, and his visits with Zoey were to be supervised until he completed ten sessions.

Now, with another arrest under his belt, it seems life after Family Matters has been anything but family-friendly for McCrary.
