The Government of Ghana, under the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has placed strong emphasis on revitalizing poultry production through the innovative “Nkokɔ Nkitinkiti” project, an initiative aimed at building a more resilient and sustainable poultry ecosystem nationwide.
In alignment with this national vision, AgriPro, a forward-looking agricultural organization committed to equipping farmers across Africa with knowledge and resources for efficient food systems, has successfully conducted its Brooder House Management Training Program on Friday, 26th September, 2025 at the Enterprise Village in Accra. This initiative was designed to provide poultry farmers with practical skills, expert guidance, and access to resources that boost productivity, reduce losses, and ensure healthier flocks.
The program attracted a strong attendance of both new and experienced farmers eager to sharpen their skills in modern poultry management. Over the course of the training, participants were taken through a series of carefully designed lessons including:
- Farm Management and AI for Poultry Farmers – how to properly manage a poultry farm and modern AI tool to enhance productivity and safety.
- Temperature and Ventilation Control – ensuring optimal conditions for chick growth and survival.
- Feeding and Watering Systems – strategies to minimize wastage and improve feed efficiency.
- Biosecurity Measures – practical steps to safeguard poultry houses from diseases and external contamination.
- Record Keeping & Monitoring – the role of data in improving farm decisions and profitability.
The interactive sessions allowed farmers to ask questions, share experiences, and receive expert guidance from seasoned facilitators. Beyond the classroom knowledge, the highlight of the training was the generosity of AgriPro’s partners, who donated free poultry house equipment to every participant. This included brooders, drinkers, brooder house heat lamps, disinfectants and other essential tools to help farmers immediately apply the lessons learned on their farms. Farmers also received free resource materials such as record templates, Standard Operating Protocol (SOPs) among others. Combining training with tangible resources is one sure way to empower farmers to put theory into practice and see results quickly.
Participants expressed great appreciation for the program, noting that apart from improving their technical know-how it also gave them confidence to manage their poultry businesses more efficiently. Many described the training as “timely,” especially given the rising demand for poultry products and the challenges of maintaining healthy flocks.
AgriPro remains committed to supporting farmers through continuous education, innovation, and partnerships that bring long-term impact to the agricultural sector.
