Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60.
He fell ill at his home in East Legon and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he died.
Controversy erupts over Daddy Lumba’s widow
Following the late singer’s death, a damaging controversy has erupted between his two surviving wives.
Daddy Lumba married Akosua Serwaa in the 1980s after they met in Germany, and they never officially divorced. Later in his life, he married Priscilla Ofori Atta, also known as Odo Broni.
Supporters of both women have advanced their interests as Daddy Lumba’s true widow, leading to allegations being flung at the other camp and creating a toxic controversy.
In a viral TikTok video, an alleged sister of Akosua Serwaa blasted Odo Broni, accusing her of destroying Daddy Lumba’s perfect marriage for her own interests.
In response, an alleged relative of Odo Broni also accused Akosua Serwaa of abandoning her husband when he was ill and claimed that disqualified her from being considered as the late singer’s widow.
Meanwhile, Maame Yeboah Asiedu, a media personality and apparent Akosua Serwaa supporter, slammed Daddy Lumba, claiming he mistreated his wife by marrying another woman and flaunting her as his partner.

Daddy Lumba’s sister, Faustina Fosu, also appeared to contribute to the saga when she failed to greet Odo Broni during the late singer’s one-week observance.
Amid the drama, she has opened up and called for the back-and-forth to end, as it was damaging to Daddy Lumba.
She said the attacks were too many and that the late musician was being dragged down by people who do not match up to his stature.
Faustina Fosu said the family had suffered enough and that anyone speaking ill of Daddy Lumba should cease because, no matter his faults, they still loved him and accepted him for who he was.
