Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola recently shared a heartfelt and remarkable story about how he purchased two exquisite homes in Dubai to commemorate the wedding of his beloved daughter, Temi Otedola.

The popular actress and style influencer married renowned Nigerian musician, Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, in a private ceremony.

Femi Otedola buys 2 houses in Dubai

During a touching speech at the wedding reception, Otedola stated the journey he undertook over 15 years, during which he visited approximately 70 properties in Dubai without ever making a purchase.

It was a spontaneous trip to Dubai Hills with Temi that changed everything when she pointed out a beautiful house, suggesting it as the perfect venue for her engagement ceremony. As he vividly recounted,

“So, we saw this beautiful house, and Temi said to me, ‘Papa, you know, I can have an engagement ceremony at this house. Why don’t you buy it?”.

Initially hesitant and contemplating the significant financial commitment, he reflected on a thought that resonated deeply with him:

“Come on, money you don’t spend is not yours. Life is for the living.”

Inspired by this realisation, he decided to make the purchase, turning his daughter’s dream into reality.

The engagement ceremony held at the lovely house was just the beginning of their celebration.

Remarkably, about eight months later, Otedola received a call from the real estate agent about another newly completed home on the same street where they had the engagement.

Otedola, amused, recalled,

“Temi came to visit me. Again, I said, Temi, there’s one house. Let’s go look at it. We got there, and Temi remarked, Papa, you know, this will be nice for the afterparty.’ I jokingly replied, ‘You are very unserious. However, in keeping with the spirit of celebration, he bought the second house as well, where they hosted a memorable afterparty that complemented the joyous wedding festivities.”

The grand finale of their wedding festivities took place in Iceland, where the couple made history with a luxurious church wedding at the iconic Hallgrimskirkja.
