Kudus reflects on representing the Black Stars ahead of 2026 World Cup qualifiers
“I think playing for your country is also a massive part of us being players, representing your nation. So, it’s very, very important to me,” Kudus told Tottenham’s Media Team.
Kudus’ reflections came shortly after tasting his first defeat of the new Premier League season.
That loss came at the hands of compatriot Antoine Semenyo, whose Bournemouth side edged past Kudus’ Tottenham.
The Nima-born attacker did not shy away from admitting that both he and his teammates were below par on the day.
“We knew they [Bournemouth] were very tough team to play with, a bit different kind of game. But I think we didn’t really create enough today, including myself, you know, as forward players,” Kudus said.
While disappointment lingered, he quickly shifted his attention to the international stage, where the task is clear — lead Ghana closer to qualification.

Kudus’ performances for Ghana
The Right to Dream Academy graduate has been a central figure in the national team since his debut in 2019.
With 12 goals in 42 appearances, including a strike in the 3-0 win over Madagascar earlier this year, Kudus has become one of Ghana’s most reliable players.
His creativity and ability to rise in big games will be crucial when the Black Stars face Chad on September 4 before meeting Mali four days later.
As preparations begin, several key figures have already reported for national duty.
Among them are captain Jordan Ayew, striker Antoine Semenyo, goalkeeper Joseph Anang, midfielder Elisha Owusu, and youngster Christopher Bonsu Baah.

The team is expected to open camp on Monday, September 1, before travelling to N’Djamena for the opening fixture.
With the stakes high, Ghana know exactly what is required. Victories in both matches would all but secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For Kudus, that dream remains as strong as ever — to help the Black Stars return to the global stage and inspire a new generation of Ghanaian football fans.
