A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held today at the Military Cemetery, Burma Camp, to mark the fifth anniversary of the passing of former President Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings.

The ceremony, officiated by Lt. Col (Rev. Father) Benjamin Kwesi Effah, was attended by the former President’s children, the Head of the Agbotui Family, Colonel Joshua Agbotui, and other members of the nuclear family. A wreath was laid on behalf of the family by the children in remembrance of the late leader.

Plans for a larger commemoration to mark the fifth anniversary have been temporarily put on hold following the recent death of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the wife of the former President, who passed away on October 23, 2025.
