A video footage has surfaced showing Dr Edward Omane Boamah at the Air Force Base in Accra to join a helicopter together with seven others, which caused their death.
Dr Omane Boamah and the seven others were on their way to Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Co-operative Mining and Skills Development Programme (COMSDEP), an initiative to address illegal mining, when their aircraft went down in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

A Facebook video showed Dr Omane Boamah’s arrival at the Air Force Base. According to the narrator, he arrived at 8 am. He was dressed in all white attire.

The narrator stated that Dr Omane Boamah asked his bodyguard and cameraman to stay behind since there was not enough space in the helicopter.
Afterwards, he shook hands with the crew and waved as the helicopter took off from the Air Force Base.
Some minutes after the chopper took off, the Ghana Armed Forces announced that a helicopter had gone off radar. It was later realised that the chopper had gone down in the Adansi area, leading to the death of all occupants, including the crew.
