Andre Ayew speaks fluent Ga
The clip, which has been making rounds on social media, shows renowned photographer Manuel Photography teasing Ayew in a casual conversation.
Manuel greeted him with, “Capito, wo si diɛ,” which loosely means, “Capito, what’s up?” He then asked if the experienced midfielder understood Twi.
Ayew laughed off the question and quickly responded. “My Twi is not good,” he said before urging Manuel to speak in Ga. “Every day Twi, come to Ga.”
He added, “Wiemɔ Ga fioo,” which translates as “Speak a little Ga,” hinting that he feels more comfortable chatting in the Ga language than in Twi.

Fans were thrilled by his response, with many taking to X to share their thoughts.
One user, @et_commey, remarked:
“Every day Twi, see how he make de guy eye die.”
Another, @UTDCheff, proudly wrote:
“Ga and Proud.”
Born in Seclin, Andre spent much of his childhood in France, following his father, Abedi Ayew’s long career in Europe, per VOA News.
This background explains his mastery of both French and English, though little was previously known about his ability to converse in Ghanaian dialects.
Interestingly, this was not the first time he had been caught speaking Ga.
In a video once shared by Fiifi Tackie, the Ayew family spokesperson, the footballer was overheard warning excited fans in Ga to stop pressing against his car window:
“You will damage my glass oo. Take off your hands. I will give you something. You take your hands off.” That moment also left social media buzzing.

Andre Ayew urged to join Hearts of Oak
In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, sports analyst Raymond Nyamador urged Andre “Dede” Ayew to consider joining Hearts of Oak, suggesting the move could revive his Black Stars career ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking on Sporty FM, Nyamador argued that returning to the Ghana Premier League might give Ayew the platform needed to earn a recall to the national team.
