The recently held Africa Creative Market (ACM) 2025 in partnership with Fashion Connect Africa and Fashion Evo in Lagos has set the stage for a new wave of collaboration and empowerment in the African fashion industry, with model mentor and advocate Foje Jencey highlighting the importance of cross-border partnerships and entrepreneurship for models across the continent.
Speaking after the event, Jensi emphasized that the gathering underscored the shared visions of stakeholders from different countries, proving that the future of African fashion lies in building bridges rather than working in isolation.
Aligning Mentorship and Fashion Platforms
Jensi revealed that the Agency Model Mentorship Association, which she leads, is closely aligned with the mission of Fashion Connect Africa. Both entities, she noted, are committed not only to promoting modeling but also to empowering models through entrepreneurship, branding, marketing, and sales across multiple markets.
“Our goal is to encourage models to see themselves not just as faces on the runway, but as entrepreneurs and influencers who can expand their craft into businesses and global opportunities,” she explained.

Training Produces Breakthrough Talent
A recent mentorship initiative titled “The Business of Modeling”, held just a month earlier, is already bearing fruit. One of the standout participants, Marilee, was scouted and went on to walk for two designers during the Lagos showcase, earning praise for her stunning performance.
“This proves that with readiness and training, models can seize opportunities when they come,” Jensi said, pointing to Marilee’s breakthrough as a model case study in empowerment through preparation.
The Role of Victoria Michaels
Celebrated Ghanaian model and entrepreneur Victoria Michaels played a pivotal role in bridging the collaboration. She not only invited Jensi to Lagos but also served as a speaker during the mentorship training, reinforcing her longstanding commitment to nurturing talent across the continent.
Looking Ahead: Ghana on the Horizon
Jensi also confirmed her participation in the upcoming Fashion Connect Africa event in Ghana, describing it as a potentially revolutionary and transformative moment for the African creative market. With the Lagos edition proving that collaboration can unlock new possibilities, expectations for the Ghana event are running high.
Building Momentum
For Jensi, the Lagos event was more than a fashion showcase—it was a proof of concept for what cross-border collaboration can achieve. It brought stakeholders together, revealed untapped opportunities, and set the stage for stronger alliances that will continue to shape the future of African fashion and modeling.
