According to him, the erstwhile Akufo-Addo government got 15 out of the 25 polluted water bodies restored before leaving.
“We were able to repair 15 out of the 25 water bodies that were polluted by galamsey before we left government. We believe the only reason the NPP government could win the galamsey battle was mainly due to the way the NDC supported illegal miners.”
He added that even though some NDC members supported galamsey operations while in opposition, the NPP would not do that, but rather call on the President to put in measures to end the challenge.
“Some NDC stalwarts used their campaign platforms to make public their support for illegal miners. But as for the NPP, we will not do that. We will rather continue to unite with our fellow Ghanaians and speak to the President to tackle the galamsey issue. So that we can say after their tenure that even if they could not do anything, they stopped galamsey.”

“Ah! Has Miracles forgotten that under the NPP government, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko and the Amenfi East Parliamentary Candidate Ernest Frimpong met with galamseyers in June 2024, urging them to attack any military man who would attempt to stop them from mining?”

“Sheldon, this is really embarrassing for you and your party. Galamsey went on for 4 years nd your party couldn’t stop it, but a party comes into power and in less than a year nd see NPP’s negligence. Act like a true Ghanaian and not party-led, bro.”
