Veteran Ghanaian media personality Tommy Annan Forson has lost his brother, Gerald Annan Forson.

Tommy Annan Forson, known as the Godfather of Radio, rose to prominence working at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the 1970s.
He later worked at the Multimedia Group and Choice FM and has also been credited as one of the pioneers of stand-up comedy in Ghana.
Tommy Annan Forson loses brother Gerald
The brother of celebrated broadcaster Tommy Annan Forson, Gerald, has been reported dead.
According to his obituary, which was shared on Facebook, he passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 78.

The late Gerald Annan Forson was a celebrated photojournalist with a career spanning decades.
He was a lecturer of photography at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), now known as the University of Media, Arts and Communications (UNIMAC-GIJ), as well as the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI).
Annan Forson was a founding member of the Ghana Union of Professional Photographers (GUPP).
His work earned him recognition on numerous occasions. In 1980, his coverage on Ghana’s 1979 transition to democracy was shown at the Ghana Arts Council, Accra in 1980.
He also organised and curated a major photographic exhibition at the Ghana International Trade Fair (1990).
Gerald Annan Forson’s cause of death is currently not known.
