The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics at KNUST Senior High School, following a viral video that allegedly captured him in a compromised position with a female student.
In a press release dated September 29, 2025, the GES described the matter as a serious breach of professional conduct and confirmed that Mr. Aidoo has been relieved of his duties while investigations are underway. He has also been barred from visiting the school during this period.
“Management views this matter with utmost seriousness. In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care, Mr. Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, read.
The Service assured parents, stakeholders, and the general public that due process will be followed, and any disciplinary action taken will be in accordance with the GES code of conduct.
The statement further emphasized GES’s dedication to protecting students and maintaining discipline in schools.
