The Ghana–China Chamber of Commerce and the Chinese community in Ghana have expressed their deepest condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government, and the people of Ghana following Wednesday’s tragic Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including two Ministers of State.
In a statement addressed to the President and signed on behalf of the Chamber and Chinese nationals living and working in Ghana, the group described the August 6, 2025, crash as “not only a national tragedy for Ghana but also a profound loss felt by all friends of Ghana across the world.”
“We share in your grief and stand in solidarity with the bereaved families, the Government, and the good people of Ghana during this period of national mourning,” the statement said.
The Chamber extended prayers for comfort, healing, and strength to all those affected by the devastating loss, adding that the tragedy serves as a reminder of the strong bond of friendship between Ghana and China.
“It is our hope that unity and resilience will continue to guide the nation forward. May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace,” the statement concluded.
The crash, which occurred in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region, killed all eight people on board, including Minister for Defence Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress Dr. Samuel Sarpong, government technical advisor Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Kwabena Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
