Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan has committed his future to AS Saint-Étienne, signing a contract through 2028 with an option for 2029.
The 22-year-old joins the French Ligue 2 side from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade, where he made 19 appearances last season while securing a league and cup double.
“I’m thrilled to join a club with such passionate fans and clear ambition,” Annan stated. “I’ll give everything to help us achieve our goals.” His decision prioritizes consistent playing time over higher-profile offers, betting on Saint-Étienne’s project to return to Ligue 1.
The €2.5 million transfer sees Annan take the number 19 shirt, adding defensive steel to a squad rebuilding after relegation. His departure from Belgrade surprised some, but the move signals a strategic step for a player eyeing national team recognition. Can this rising star help ignite Les Verts’ promotion push?
