The Ghanaian community in the Russian Federation, led by its President, Mr. Ebenezer Wepari, along with executives and a delegation of members, paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s newly appointed Ambassador to Russia, His Excellency Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah.
The visit served as a formal congratulation to Ambassador Jehu-Appiah on his pivotal appointment and a heartfelt welcome to a nation he intimately knows.
President Wepari, speaking on behalf of the entire Ghanaian diaspora in Russia, expressed gratitude for the Ambassador’s acceptance of such a crucial role.

He particularly highlighted Ambassador Jehu-Appiah’s unique connection to the Russian Federation, noting that the Ambassador undertook his medical training in the country.
This personal history, Mr. Wepari emphasised, provides a valuable foundation for understanding the local context and fostering stronger ties.

The community outlined challenges faced by some members, and the Ambassador reiterated his commitment to ensuring the welfare, protection, and interests of all Ghanaians residing in the federation.
Ambassador Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, in his remarks, thanked President Wepari and the community for their warm reception and assured them of his unwavering dedication to serving Ghana’s interests and addressing the needs of its citizens in Russia.
He acknowledged the vital role the diaspora plays as key partners in national development and pledged his office’s full support for their initiatives and concerns.
