Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) in Wa has conferred degrees on its inaugural Bachelor of Laws cohort during a special congregation ceremony.

The Upper West Region institution marked a significant milestone in northern Ghana’s legal education landscape with 61 graduates completing the program.

University records confirm 464 students currently enrolled across law program levels, with male students comprising 68% of total enrollment. Ghana Bar Association President Mrs. Efua Ghartey addressed the ceremony, characterizing legal practice as professionally rewarding while urging graduates to uphold justice principles.

Vice Chancellor Professor Emmanuel Deribile outlined concurrent efforts to address campus infrastructure deficits. He announced an Accelerated Completion Initiative targeting decade-stalled projects including a library, lecture halls, and student hostels. The program leverages internally generated funds alongside government GETFund resources to advance construction.

Recent progress includes operationalizing a new auditorium, completing an interim administration block, and constructing security and amenities facilities. These developments align with institutional goals to enhance academic delivery and position SDD-UBIDS as a northern educational hub under the Mahama administration’s regional development agenda.
