Award-winning Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has once again expressed her strong commitment and readiness to fight for the betterment of the country’s movie industry.
Over the years, the actress has been among a few who consistently use their platforms to call attention to the struggles of Ghana’s film sector and the need to restore its former glory.
In a recent interview on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, Gloria revealed that despite being criticised by some of her colleagues and some Ghanaians for being outspoken, she remains determined to continue her advocacy. She emphasized that her fight is not for personal gain but for the future of younger actors and filmmakers.
“I used to say the Ghanaian film industry is not worth dying for, but I have changed my mind.
“Because I think that I am fighting for the next generation of film makers. Not the people who think they are okay, who think they are satisfied, they are content with where they are; with where the movie industry is. I am fighting for the next generation,” she stated.
According to her, many young actors often reach out to her, expressing their frustrations and encouraging her not to give up her efforts to push for change.

She further described the situation as “CRAZY” and “totally disheartening,” she questioned what had gone wrong in an industry that once flourished. “What has happened to our industry??? Talents are BEING WASTED. Mercy Lord,” she lamented.
Her comments drew mixed reactions online, with some people commending her for speaking the truth while others criticised her for portraying the industry negatively. Despite the backlash, Gloria Sarfo remains resolute, insisting her passion and advocacy are driven by the hope of seeing a stronger, more vibrant Ghanaian movie industry.
