Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has achieved another global milestone, as Guinness World Records officially recognised her for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

The record-setting dish weighed 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) and was achieved in partnership with Gino at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on September 12, 2025.

The grand event, tagged the Gino World Jollof Festival, pulled thousands of attendees and created a major buzz on social media. Notable personalities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, were present to celebrate the historic feat.

Hilda, who first gained international recognition in 2023 with her Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now cemented her place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs. This latest achievement not only highlights her culinary mastery but also showcases the cultural pride surrounding Nigerian jollof rice.
