Ghanaian Gospel musician, Frank Tagoe, known in showbiz as Perez Musik, has expressed concern about how Ghana’s current economic challenges are affecting the spiritual lives of young people.
In an interview with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the award-winning gospel artiste said many young people find it difficult to genuinely worship God because of the harsh economic realities they face.
According to him, financial struggles and unemployment have weakened the commitment of the youth to church and spiritual activities. He explained that many are preoccupied with survival, making it hard to stay focused on their faith.
“One thing that’s making it difficult for them to worship is hunger,” Perez Musik stated.
The “Kaafo” hitmaker therefore urged churches and society at large to pay closer attention to the physical and emotional needs of young people.

Perez noted that while spiritual nourishment is vital, empowering the youth economically is equally important to strengthen their faith and devotion to God’s work. He emphasized that the church’s responsibility goes beyond preaching, calling on faith leaders to create initiatives that support young people’s welfare and growth.
