The controversial Eze Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu showed up at Manhyia Palace to mourn with the Asantehene on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

He made a grand entrance in a viral video as he was seen walking in the midst of his entourage with his walking stick, black glass shade, and black trousers.

In a trending video seen by YEN.com.gh on TikTok, the Igbo King suffered an embarrassing moment during the funeral.

He was seen walking towards the Asantehene to pay homage and greet the king.

In a moment that has sparked online conversations, Otumfuo’s linguist (kyeame), who was directing affairs, stopped the Igbo King from shaking the Asante monarch’s hand as other people had done.

Within the past few months, the Igbo King has stirred controversy in Ghana over alleged plans to establish a kingdom in the country.

Despite repeated denials, he has been accused of attempting to violate Ghana’s sovereignty with his plans.
