Popular Kumawood actress Joyce Boakye has broken her silence amid Afia Schwarzenegger’s allegations about the paternity of her daughter, Ohemaa.

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, Afia took to her official TikTok to criticise the NPP’s Ernest Owusu Bempah over his recent verbal attacks against the leadership of his party.
She alleged that Ernest Owusu Bempah was a serial womaniser who had a secret affair with Joyce Boakye many years ago. She also claimed that he was the biological father of the Kumawood actress’s little daughter, Ohemaa.
Afia Schwarzenegger alleged that she borrowed GH₵10,000 from the Akuapem North MP, Sammy Awuku, to settle the actress’ bills after she was left stranded at the hospital following her child’s birth.
She also claimed that Ernest Owusu Bempah, a prominent member of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s campaign team, abandoned Joyce Boakye after she gave birth and refused to take care of her daughter, Ohemaa.

Joyce Boakye reacts to Afia Schwarzenegger’s allegations
Following Afia Schwarzenegger’s allegations, Joyce Boakye has taken to her official Instagram page to react.
The actress appeared to confirm the allegations of Ernest Owusu Bempah, being the father of her daughter, Ohemaa.
In a cryptic video she shared, she and her daughter jammed to Nigerian veteran singer Duncan Mighty’s classic hit, Obianuju, as they participated in the viral TikTok Screen Half trend.
The actress and her daughter constantly moved to the Baby Daddy section, with fans interpreting it as her way of confirming the presence of her child’s father in their lives.
In the caption of the social media post, she noted that she and an individual with the initials O.B. would fight together against the world. She also threw subtle jabs at Afia Schwarzenegger and critics.
She wrote:

Joyce Boakye’s childbirth and marital issues
Joyce Boakye welcomed her daughter Ohemaa in 2023. She had gone on a long hiatus from social media before announcing the birth of her child with a photo of herself showing off her baby bump.

The movie actress initially denied rumours of her expecting a child at the beginning of her pregnancy. She also failed to share the identity of her child’s father.
Joyce Boakye was previously married for nine years until her marriage came to a bitter end. In 2019, she accused her Kumawood colleague Tracey Boakye of orchestrating her divorce from her then 73-year-old husband.
However, in a 2024 interview with blogger Zionfelix, she shared that her marriage to her ex-husband collapsed due to her infertility issues.
The Kumawood actress also claimed that her ex-husband took everything he bought for her, including land and a house.
Joyce Boakye expressed regret over the divorce, stating that she would not have lost her properties if she had given birth to a child in the marriage.
