The University of Ghana Stadium will come alive on Saturday, August 23, 2025, as the JoySports Invitational Tournament returns with a carnival of competition, entertainment, and corporate pride.
Featuring 50 institutions across 15 sporting disciplines, this year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet — a true festival of teamwork, wellness, and networking for corporate Ghana.
The day will begin at 6:00 am with a 5km Race Walk and Aerobics session on the Legon Campus.
In a special highlight, the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana, Julius Debrah, will join participants for the walk and aerobics session before taking the ceremonial kick to officially open the tournament.
This symbolic gesture underscores the Invitational’s growing significance as a national event, promoting both fitness and unity.
At the heart of the Invitational is football, with two venues set to host mouthwatering clashes.
On the Stadium Pitch (Park 1), the action begins at 8:00 am, with Heritage Christian University facing the Multimedia Group in a thrilling opener. Other headline fixtures include Adansi Travels vs McDan (8:20 am), GhIPSS vs ECG (9:00 am), and a corporate showdown between National Identification Authority and Star Assurance Ltd (9:40 am).
The morning will also see big names like Multichoice Ghana, KOA Impact Ltd, Youth Employment Agency, Old Mutual, Nkulenu Industries, and NPA take to the field.
Meanwhile, the Training Pitch (Park 2) will feature equally intense battles. La Community Bank vs Emigoh Ghana Ltd (8:00 am) kicks things off, followed by fixtures such as Peeva Beverages vs SIC Insurance (8:20 am), Minerals Commission vs Piwak Natural Health (9:00 am), and DHL Ghana Ltd vs GOIL PLC (10:40 am).
The Park 2 schedule will climax with a stylish contest between Labadi Beach Hotel and IS Evolutions Consult Ltd (11:00 am).
These fixtures set the stage for a fierce road to the knockout rounds, where corporate bragging rights will be on the line.
While football draws the spotlight, the Invitational is much more than goals and tackles. From 8:00 am to 11:00 am, the stadium and courts will host volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, draughts, chess, scrabble, e-sports, lime-and-spoon, and free-throw contests.
At midday, the focus shifts to the pool and pitch, with swimming, CEOs’ penalty shootouts, and female penalty contests showcasing diversity and inclusion in competition.
The afternoon (2:00 pm – 4:00 pm) brings fun but competitive events like the sack race, tag of peace, and arm-wrestling, alongside football’s second round.
The grand finale comes between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, when the 100m dash, relays, and the men’s football final take centre stage before the Awards Ceremony crowns the winners of the Overall Champion, Most Vibrant Company, Best Footballer, and Top Scorer awards.
