Taylor and his wife and kids showed up in Ghana for the first time in years after the Supreme Court lifted a bench warrant issued against him five years earlier.
The Accra High Court, presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Baffour, issued a bench warrant for the journalist’s arrest in January 2020, after he was found in contempt of the court.
Taylor was accused of scandalising the court after he alleged that Justice Baffour was a puppet of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
He alleged that he was promoted to do the bidding of the then-Nana Akufo-Addo government in an ongoing case involving the National Communications Authority.
Justice Kyei Baffour ordered the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies to arrest Kevin Taylor whenever he set foot in the country again.
In July 2025, the Supreme Court, by a 4-1 decision, quashed the arrest warrant, prompting Taylor to share a celebratory post on Twitter.

Residents of Kumasi warned Taylor not to set foot in the city following past public utterances he made against Otumfuo.
In a recent episode of his online show, With All Due Respect, Kevin Taylor, who has returned to the United States, said he visited Manhyia and met the Asantehene while in Ghana.
He claimed that the utterances of ordinary people in the streets have no bearing on Otumfuo’s decisions and bragged about his connections to the King.
