Controversial Ghanaian political commentator Kevin Taylor has opened up on his final conversation with late politician Samuel Aboagye.

Taylor addressed the tragic death of eight Ghanaians in the recent Obuasi helicopter crash during the Monday, August 18, 2025 edition of his online show, With All Due Respect.
The deceased were in a Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Z-9 helicopter headed to Obuasi when they crashed into the Sikaman Forest in the Adansi Afuokrom District of the Ashanti Region.
All eight people died, including high-ranking Government officials identified as Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala, and Deputy Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Samuel Aboagye.

Kevin Taylor recalls final Samuel Aboagye conversation
Speaking on his online show, Kevin Taylor eulogised Samuel Aboagye as a fine young man.
He said many people would attest to the fact that he spent a lot of resources to help Samuel Aboagye during his attempt to win the Obuasi East parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections.
“Somebody like Aboagye has been a good friend and everybody knows what I did with my team to try and get him to Parliament, the resources and support we put in. One thing about this young man, Aboagye, was that he was very appreciative of whatever I did for him,” he said.
Kevin Taylor also shared details of the final message he received from Aboagye.
“The last message I got from him was him showing appreciation and thanking me for using my platform to help him, so these are good people,” he added.

The controversial political commentator also spoke about the late defence minister, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah.

He fondly recalled the last time Boamah spoke about him during a press conference and said it was a typical display of his sharp intellect.
“The last time Omane Boamah mentioned my name was on national television when he was answering a question about Kevin Taylor and whether I was in Ghana or whether I had been taken to court. A smiling Omane Boamah, as articulate and sharp as we all know him, made the journalist understand that ‘I am not the immigration boss, I am the defence minister’. Very sharp-minded individual,” Taylor said.

Samuel Aboagye’s wife shares wedding scenes
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Samuel Aboagye’s widow shared scenes from their wedding and other important life moments as she mourned his tragic demise.
In a post shared to TikTok on Monday, August 18, Abigail Salami shared a photo depicting what happened during their wedding, with the song Wo Ne Ma Houden by Deacom Sammy Baah in the background.
The image showed Samuel Aboagye and his beautiful bride seated with another of the helicopter crash victims, Alhaji Limuna Muniru, also in the frame.
