Award-winning Kumawood actor Lil Win has courted controversy following a parade at Kejetia, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

The comic actor reportedly stormed the central business district of Kumasi as part of the promotion for his upcoming movie, Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero, which is set to premiere at the Semenhyia Golden (SG) Mall on Saturday, July 30, 2025.

The Wezzy Empire record label boss and a few of his castmates from the upcoming movie visited the market in military uniforms with their vehicles.

Lil Win’s parade at the Kejetia market, which began on a peaceful note, reportedly devolved into chaos after the comic actor sprayed cash on the large crowd that had gathered to catch a glimpse of him and grab some money.

The unfortunate incident reportedly led to two market women allegedly losing their items and money.

Market women lose their items

In an interview with Ghana Plus TV after the unfortunate incident at the Kejetia market, one market woman fumed as she narrated the events that transpired after Lil Win began spraying cash on people.

She claimed that the pandemonium caused by the actor’s actions led to her losing the yams she sold for another lady and money worth GH₵2000 as people rushed to claim their share of the money.

The market woman claimed that the incident happened as she attempted to pull a woman who had gone under Lil Win’s moving car to pick up money. She noted that she was only able to get hold of one man and retrieve GH₵100.

Another trader, who was overwhelmed with emotions, also claimed that the actor’s bodyguard allegedly pushed and destroyed the items she bought with a loan of GH₵3000 she secured from a financial institution.

She noted that she was able to get some money from Lil Win and his entourage after she confronted them on the streets but was eventually attacked by two men, who absconded with the money despite her best efforts to fight them.

Lil Win blasts CAA over Lumba vigil

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Lil Win blasted the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) in Ghana for planning to hold a vigil for Daddy Lumba on the same day as his movie premiere in Kumasi.

In a video, the Kumawood actor accused the agency of sabotage as he questioned their decision.

Lil Win also called out the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) for not holding an event to generate funds for Okomfo Kwadee.
