Government Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has emphasised that President John Dramani Mahama does not micro-manage the work of ministries and state agencies but maintains a firm oversight role to ensure accountability.
He made the remarks on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, September 15.
According to him, the President allows sector ministers and heads of agencies to function independently within their mandates while keeping a close watch on their performance.
“The President does not interfere unnecessarily in the day-to-day running of ministries and agencies,” he explained.
“But he certainly keeps a close eye on them to ensure that the right outcomes are being achieved.”
Mr Kwakye Ofosu stressed that this leadership style balances autonomy with responsibility.
“By not micro-managing, he empowers ministers and agency heads to be innovative and decisive. At the same time, he holds them accountable by monitoring progress and demanding results,” he stated.
He further argued that such an approach demonstrates the President’s confidence in his appointees and reflects his commitment to good governance.
“This is how you get the best out of your team—trusting them to deliver while ensuring that no one loses sight of the bigger national interest,” Mr Kwakye Ofosu added.
