A 22-year-old man, Eze Sunday, has been dragged before the Odigbo Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing pepper valued at N100,000 (approximately GHc840) in Ore, Ondo State, Nigeria.

Sunday is facing two counts of conspiracy and stealing, after allegedly teaming up with an accomplice — who is still at large — to steal the pepper belonging to one Adebayo Ajodun.

According to Inspector Usifoh James, the offence was committed on September 21, 2025, around 1:30 p.m. at Otu Camp, Ore.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 51 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006, and requested an adjournment to allow time to study the case file and prepare witnesses.

Sunday, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

His counsel, Mr. I.D. Eliphus, supported the request for adjournment and urged the court to grant bail on liberal terms.

Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to October 13, 2025, for further hearing.
