The Liberian man based in Ghana, identified as Prince Oliver, recently took to his TikTok page to rant about the relationship between his people and Ghanaians, describing it as “unpleasant” and “unloving”.

He contrasted this with the perceived ‘welcoming and loving’ nature of his own people to outsiders. He supported his claims with a personal experience from Madina Market in Ghana, where he allegedly witnessed a Liberian vendor denying her nationality to keep her customers.

After interrogation, she was ostensibly forced to lie and say she simply grew up in the Buduburam refugee camp. He lamented this purported treatment, stating that Liberians openly welcome all foreigners, including Ghanaians who work freely in Liberia.

He also suggested that Liberia’s boundless love for other nations is why it remains underdeveloped. He called for African unity but firmly claimed that “Ghanaians don’t love us,”.

The man proceeded to proudly assert that Liberians are “the best in the entire world” because of their capacity for love.

“I’m a Liberian. I’ve been living in Ghana for over 20 years now! Ghanaians are not selfish; they love themselves(their people) instead of loving others. So for that reason, we Liberians see them as selfish. We, the Liberians, value different nationals than ourselves, which is wrong. We should start loving our own people over different Nationals, in doing so people will also see us as selfish! Other Nationals should see us as selfish than good. Ghanaians are not seeing Liberians as good people; only we, the Liberians, think that way. They always put their people first, which is right! Let’s learn from that.”
